So this one is not going to be a normal wedding blog, in fact it’s not a wedding blog at all! The Salomons Estate, which is one of my regular venues asked me if I would like to come and cover a new type of event they’re trying out namely a showcase of local bands and singers presenting their own original material as well as popular covers. Now, normally concert photography isn’t really bread and butter for me but I do like to work outside of my comfort zone every now and then so I packed my photo gear and headed to the venue. The acts were T and the Biscuits followed by Chris Whitmore, and Matthew Hovenden who played his original material and took the opportunity to promote his kickstarter campaign to gather funds to self-release a 4 track EP. The next act was Ricky and the Hats who simply rocked the house with their electrifying mix of Ska, dub and pop followed by The Dirty Pillows who served a smorgasbord of all time rock classics. I had a fantastic time, as did the guests since the Salomons’ Science Theatre floor quickly turned into a mosh pit, and would definitely like to cover more […]
Read OnThe Westerham Golf Club in Kent with its beautiful hall and breathtaking grounds is a fantastic choice of a wedding venue so no wonder Charlie and Steve decided to host their big day there. It was also nice for me to come back to Westerham since I simply love shooting there. Now the day itself was indeed very exciting in part thanks to the weather which kept us on our toes throughout the day. We did however manage to stay dry for most of the time and all the the photographs went as planned. The day started with the Bridal preparations at Charlie’s parental home, followed by a beautiful ceremony at the St John the Evangelist Church in Hildenbrough. After the ceremony and after taking the group photographs whilst balancing on a wonky ladder, I was the one balancing not the guests of course, we headed for the stunning Westerham Golf Club for the reception. As mentioned before, the venue is stunning and after the decorations and flowers were in place it was simply magical. Another reason why I love Westerham is that you can have a little race with the Bride and Groom in the golf buggies around the golf course […]
Read OnMeet Joanna and Ryan, a lovely couple from West Malling who are getting married this August. For their engagement shoot we went for a short walk around West Malling and then headed over to the Leybourne Lakes Country Park where we were spoiled for photography locations. I had a fantastic time photographing these two love birds especially as they seemed to enjoy fooling around in front of the camera. I look forward to August and their wedding day.
